Sonoma Farmers Market
Tuesday April 8, 2008

Despite the calendar declaration that March 21 is the first day of spring, I don't buy into that notion.
My Spring arrives on the first Tuesday in April.  That's when the Sonoma Square Certified Farmer's
Market re-opens after the winter hiatus.

There are plenty of year-round markets in the area.  The Marin Civic Center Certified Farmer's
market in San Rafael on Sunday mornings is one of the largest & best stocked in the entire USA.
The Santa Rosa Veterans building Farmer's market struggles through the wet winter months.  But I
have home town pride and the spring re-birth of
my farmer's market is special.  It's small, it is less
than 30 booths even during the peak summer growing season.  The vendors and fellow shoppers
are mellow, happy, and chatty. We all have a good time. The produce is top-notch. The prepared
food is cheap & delicious.

If you're in Sonoma any Tuesday 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm until October, Come by for a visit.
